Move from Salesforce to HubSpot without losing data

CRM Assist plans, cleans and moves your Salesforce data into HubSpot: contacts, accounts, opportunities, activity history and custom objects. Your team gets a CRM they trust on day one. HubSpot Gold Solutions Partner based in Orange County, working with B2B teams across the US.

Is a migration right for you?

Migrate when you want one system: fewer licenses, one source of truth, and marketing and sales working in the same place. If sales needs to stay in Salesforce, you probably want an integration instead. See our HubSpot–Salesforce integration services.

What we migrate

  • Leads and contacts to HubSpot contacts, deduplicated by email.
  • Accounts to HubSpot companies, with contact associations intact.
  • Opportunities to HubSpot deals, with stages mapped to your new pipelines.
  • Tasks, events and cases so reps and service teams keep their history.
  • Campaigns so marketing attribution doesn't start from zero.
  • Custom objects moved to HubSpot custom objects, or folded into properties when that's simpler.
  • Owners and users matched so every record lands with the right rep.

Salesforce reports, dashboards and automation don't move on their own. We rebuild them in HubSpot reports, workflows and sequences, often simpler than before.

How a migration project works

  1. Audit. We inventory your Salesforce objects, fields, record counts, automation and reports, and flag what's unused or duplicated.
  2. Mapping plan. A field-by-field plan: every Salesforce object and field, where it goes in HubSpot, and what gets archived instead of moved.
  3. Clean before moving. We dedupe, standardize picklist values like lead source, industry and stage names, and archive old records while they're still in Salesforce, where cleanup is easier.
  4. Build HubSpot first. Properties, pipelines, custom objects and owners are set up before any data arrives, so imports land in the right place.
  5. Test import. We move a small slice, like one team's contacts and deals, and check associations, owners and stages before the full move.
  6. Migrate in order. Companies and contacts first, then deals with their associations, then activity history.
  7. Reconcile and go live. We compare record counts and sample key fields in both systems, rebuild your reports and automation, train your team, and only then help you shut off Salesforce.

How HubSpot's Salesforce import works

Once HubSpot and Salesforce are connected, HubSpot can import Salesforce leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities, tasks, cases, events, a campaign and custom objects directly, with filters to bring over only the records you want. It needs a Professional or Enterprise HubSpot subscription, and large imports can take several hours because they share your Salesforce API limits. For bigger or more complex moves, like long activity histories, attachments or heavily customized objects, we combine the native import with spreadsheet or API-based tools so nothing gets left behind.

Mistakes we help you avoid

  • Picklists imported as free text, which breaks reporting and segments on day one.
  • Deals without stage history, so pipeline reports have no baseline.
  • No test import, so association and owner problems show up after reps are already using HubSpot.
  • Duplicates moved over instead of cleaned up first.
  • Shutting off Salesforce too early, before counts and key fields are checked.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a Salesforce to HubSpot migration take?

For a small-to-midsize team, a clean migration typically runs 2–6 weeks. Most of that time goes into the audit, mapping and cleanup, not the import itself. Large data volumes and custom objects add time.

Will my Salesforce reports and dashboards carry over?

No. Historical data can move, but report and dashboard definitions don't. We rebuild them in HubSpot.

Can you migrate custom objects and history?

Yes. HubSpot can import Salesforce custom objects, tasks, events and cases. For long activity histories or attachments, we add spreadsheet or API-based tools so nothing is lost.

Can we move contacts first and deals later?

Yes, and it's often smart. Just make sure companies and contacts are fully moved and deduplicated before deals arrive, so deal associations land correctly.

What HubSpot subscription do we need?

HubSpot's built-in Salesforce import needs a Professional or Enterprise subscription. We'll confirm the right edition for your team before you buy.

Can we keep Salesforce running during the move?

Yes. Most teams run both side by side for a short time while we reconcile data and train users, then switch Salesforce off.

Should we migrate or integrate?

Migrate if you want one system. Integrate if sales needs to stay in Salesforce. A short call is usually enough to tell which fits. See HubSpot–Salesforce integration services.
